Shauna Sturgess
Office Assistant & New Patient Coordinator
Shauna Sturgess
Shauna Sturgess is our Office Assistant and New Patient Coordinator. She works primarily virtually but is in the office when our Office Manager Nila needs to be out. Shauna has an extensive background of over 15 years in customer service, working in everything from hospitality to telemarketing and with over eight years experience in administrative office work. Previously as a Comcast dispatcher and technical logistics support, she developed new technological skills and assisted customers with their internet issues over the phone. She really enjoys working with Pacific Integrative & Functional Medicine supporting patients and our team, and also contributing fresh ideas as we always strive for continuous quality improvement. In her role, she assists inquiring and new patients and responds to current patients’ needs including processing lab orders, lab results/reports, and prescription refills. She also assists Dr. Bera-Miller with technology including the practice's website and social media to help expand her Integrative/Functional Medicine practice to beyond one on one patient care. She supports also any group events Dr. Bera-Miller conducts including workshops and group medical visits.
Shauna is an only child who grew up in Pleasanton. She was a girl scout for eight years. Beyond work, in her spare time, she loves trying new things and enjoys many things in life, especially art, laughter, New Mexico, the beach, good movies, cooking, fishing, Disney Land, music, San Jose Sharks, and attending festivals and concerts. Shauna donates to many causes like Kamp Kenan and the California Sea Otter Fund (for research and conservation, the otter being her favorite animal). She is also a member of the Valley Bonsai Club. Fun Facts: She owns four tortoises. And she is a scare actor and makeup artist for Pirates of Emerson in October.
In 2021 Shauna lost her father which she believes was from suboptimal diagnosis and care and thus preventable. Since then through processing this great loss she is focused on staying positive and healthy and is passionate about helping others. She now resides in Livermore, near her mother with whom she stays closely connected. After overcoming a severe car accident, Shauna eagerly continues to learn and apply holistic healing and health principles to her own life which has significantly improved her own health.
